Teddy told me not long ago that he still remembers our first date vividly.

He remembered his hesitation when I insisted we go for a 2$ Chicken Rice at Ananas Cafe right outside the MRT station. He wasn’t sure that it would be the most appropriate thing on the list of How to impress a girl on a first date.

I laughed when he said that, knowing how much it impressed me to finally find someone as grounded and spontaneous as Teddy.

8 years together, we’re now several chicken-rices and a couple adventures away from that day. But our values and principles remain the same as the first day we met. 

And, in the back of my mind,  I remain thankful for Teddy to be his full self on our first day, showing how much connectivity and compassion can lead us to this memorable relationship.
